Re: Redoing "bad" longplays
Just upload it, that's not big, some videos here are bigger than 10GB!

Re: Redoing "bad" longplays
Yes you should.
Im sure there are ways to make the file smaller but RickyC and Geekmeister know much more about that stuff then me.

But yeah dude, upload away. Or if you wanna shrink the file size a bit then ask one of the mods. They will hook you up.

Re: Redoing "bad" longplays
The video is all set but the file is huge. 207 MB for a 40 minute video seems a little to big. Good quality though. Should I upload it?

Re: Redoing "bad" longplays
Ninja Gaiden for NES is a really hard game. So if you can do a better job than the previous one, then i at least think you should go ahead and record it ^_^

Re: Redoing "bad" longplays
1st post...

I just downloaded the LP of Ninja Gaiden on the NES and I thought it was a pretty poor run. The creator's play is very sloppy and is quite obviously abusing save states/rerecords. The end result was a completion of the game with all cutscenes, etc, but a very boring video to watch.

I have beaten this game probably 50 times on my NES console and pretty much have it mastered. If I were to create a better, more polished LP, would it have any chance of being published? I'm not posting this here to rip on the guy. I'm just wondering if my LP of the same game has a chance of being published.

Re: Can we see an Atari section ever?
Atari Jaguar would be a much better addition to the site then 2600 games as 99.99% of them have no ending and starts looping indefinitely without stopping. I would like to see anyone to atari jagaur games so I will put that in the request forum.

Re: Can we see an Atari section ever?
I see we you only have ST stuff, I would love to see Atari 2600 and Lynx stuff the most.

Re: Can we see an Atari section ever?
There is an Atari section on this site already, it's under the "other" tab on top! right here: Atari we don't really have a lot of videos though, but thats because no one seems to record games from the atari system.

Re: Can we see an Atari section ever?
I think an Atari section for all of Atari's systems would be a great edition to the site. If you search youtube there's almost no atari Longplays to be found. Can one be added to this site?

Re: A thought.
This reply has obviously taken quite a long time... But I see your point, and as long as you would add the longplays link longplays.org now I don't see any reason why you shouldn't upload longplay videos to your own youtube account. As you said it could increase the awareness of this site, so I say go for it, we can also upload those videos to Archive for downloads.

Re: A thought.
I've been perusing this site, as well as the YouTube channel for a couple days now. I find it admirable that you're willing to host the videos on your channel and give users who do not have the 10:59+ privilege, but as we all know, this is not the case for everyone, which brings me to the point of creating this topic.

To be blunt, to offer up my video for you to upload to the cubex55 YouTube channel would be a waste of time for both parties. I would not object to the normal download (which seems to be via torrent), but I do ask if it's acceptable for users who are able to host their own full-length content on YouTube to do so, without the cubex55 channel simultaneously hosting. I can sympathize with wishing to have everything on cubex55 to better promote longplays.net, so I can fully understand if this may not be well received.

If uploaded on my own personal channel, I promise to upload in the same fashion as the cubex channel, so there will always be longplays.net promotions, and allowing users who have their own ability to upload larger videos could increase the viewer and user base. It is true that this works equally as well if uploaded on both channels, but that brings me to the point of saving time for both parties. Wink

Please deliver your honest thoughts.
