Its pretty straightforward lol. And to record, you just need a decent secondary HDD with a decent codec to record losslessly. Run tests and see what you can record.

@orugari if you want codec to use with dxtory, use lagarith works very good for me

hum, Maybe is not a bad idea to write a full guide about how to record. Now you need to search over several topics to find how to do. There is no thousand good codecs, need to show which one is goo

I usually just record with Fraps, then convert it to mp4 with Prism to a smaller size.

The way I hear it, Fraps isnt truly lossless, but visually or something. It still leaves a crapload of information on the video that the file sizes are big. Having several HDD's for storage helps.

True, but that really depends on your computer and its graphic capabilities. Mine sometimes locks the frame rate of the game to 30 fps slowing the game to half-speed.

I only wish Fraps didn't take up so much memory. It's like 1GB a minute. That's f**ked up.

Either record in yv12 or YUY2(Bigger, better quality) Multithread etc whatever.

And is more customizeable than fraps. Tbh I wouldnt recommend fraps, I'd just grab DXtory and use Lags for a good recording, and PCM if you're an audio nut.
