@Spazbo4 If you don't mind I'll stick to my current setup. It seems to be accepted fine. Besides, I don't have the money for a different setup.

@Spazbo4 On the other hand, I noticed the same type of situation on my GameCube games and I'm using HDMI, not component, so I wonder if my elgato's not reading it right.

@Spazbo4 Elgato HD 60. I'm currently tinkering around and your right: 30fps looks better, bad as it pains me. I generally keep it a rule to record 60fps.

@DiggerandIndy which elgato do you have?

I even brought out my backwards compatible ps3 and that doesn't even do as good a job of deinterlacing as OBS did
Spazbo45 years ago
I will say that just recording straight off the component input instead of having it go through some hdmi converter is much better when using OBS to record it at 60fps with the yadif 2x deinterlace tu

@Spazbo4 I noticed that on the pinball game and on my TMNT 3 GameCube longplay, and I use Eon GCHD, too.
Spazbo45 years ago
I don't know if that is the best because I do notice a bit of shaking on every other frame on your video, and I tested a different pinball hall of fame game and didn't get that same issue

@Spazbo4 I use a Retrotink 2x Pro to hook up my ps2 component to elgato. I wanted my videos to have the nicest quality possible.
Spazbo45 years ago
I'm looking at your pinball longplay, it looks good actually but im going to see what it looks like on my setup for that game, what did you use to hookup your ps2 to your elgato?
DiggerandIndy5 years ago
@Spazbo4 I'll make a note. Thanks!
Spazbo45 years ago
but there is nothing wrong with recording with OBS if you set the resolution to naitive ps2 resolution and have yadif 2x as the deinterlace method for 60fps games in 480i
Spazbo45 years ago
I will say this, if the game is in 30fps then recording should be ok if you use the elgato software, but if the game runs at 60fps native then the elgato recording software will butcher the 480i video

Is my Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection PS2 longplay still any good?
DiggerandIndy5 years ago
@Spazbo4 Uhhhhh, okay. Tell you what: I'll just use Component cables with elgato for now and if y'all have problems, please let me know.
Spazbo45 years ago
now this still might not be accepted for longplays as I need to do some testing with this and get approval, but unless we see some footage from your current setup for it and it gets approved, we can&#
Spazbo45 years ago
OK so i now have a ps2 again and have been doing some tests, i highly recommend just using component cables and recording with OBS instead of whatever capture software comes with your capture card

Also, I'm thinking about resubmitting some of my longplays that have sound issues on archives.org so they won't be replaced.
